As the Dubai International Boat Show 2018 comes to an end this week, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) along with UCINA Confindustria Nautica, the Italian Marine Industry Association, hosted an evening reception to celebrate the country’s thriving boating sector and flourishing relations with the UAE.
Held at the Italian pavilion inside the tent, the event was attended by institutional bodies represented by Valentina Setta, Consul General of Italy to Dubai; Gianpaolo Bruno, Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan; and Carla Demaria, President of UCINA – Confindustria Nautica – Italian Marine Industry Association; along with a collective of companies operating in the nautical sector that are exhibiting to showcase Italian innovations and solutions at the five-day show.
Presenting a global boating industry overview based on a survey by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, Demaria said: “The last three years have been the fastest growing years for Italy with two-digit growth. Leasing, which grew 70% in value, was the biggest booster and resulted in 26% increase in the number of contracts.” While sharing the newly-approved Italian nautical code, she commented: “We are delighted that the new codes which will benefit the maritime industry have been finally approved by the Authorities. These will simplify processes in boat registrations and licensing, and very economical as well.”
The Italian pavilion is located at Stands E18 – E19, part of the Equipment Supplies & Services area. Taking place at the Dubai Canal until March 3, 2018, the show opens at 3pm and ends at 9:30pm. For more information on ITA’s participation, please visit: www.ice.gov.it; www.eventsitadubai.com
